Barrel fermented and aged in 40% new French oak, the 2021 Chardonnay Beckstoffer Carneros Lake Vineyard Reserve features subtle notes of pencil shavings and hints of toasted hazelnut against a backdrop of white peach and melon. It's medium to full-bodied, nicely silky, lush and long—the most harmonious of the trio of 2021 single-vineyard offerings from Frank Family. – JC
