The 2010 Proprietary Poetic Justice Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard (65% Cabernet Franc and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon) plays off the gorgeous Cabernet Franc one can find in Napa Valley. A prodigious wine, it boasts an extraordinary bouquet of blue, red and black fruits, spring flowers and subtle oak. Medium-bodied, but not quite as dense and rich as the Cabernet Sauvignon or the Frontier Justice, it is an ethereal wine that could easily be mistaken for a 2009 or 2010 Right Bank premier or grand cru St.-Emilion. A tour de force in winemaking, it should drink well for 15+ years. This innovative project from a California wine retailer brings the 19th century Old West’s morals and standards of conduct to some of Napa Valley’s great vineyards..-RP
